15 year old shot dead in Juarez

Tania Lozoya, the 15-year-old Coronado High School student who was shot dead in Juárez, was a member of the student government and the junior varsity softball team.

"She was a leader in the freshman class," said Principal Marielo Morales. "This has come as a shock because we don't expect when you go to a birthday party with your parents to have a stray bullet hit you."

Morales said Tania was a member of the freshman executive committee, part of the school's student government.
Tania died Saturday night after being shot in the neck. Two males were wounded in the shooting.

7 Bodies found in 2 graves near Palomis

Seven bodies were recently unearthed in a desert area near the small town of Palomas, Mexico, across the border from Columbus, N.M.

The bodies were found Wednesday by Chihuahua state police in two graves after an anonymous call reported the location of the victims, state officials said Friday.

Officials said animals had dug up several pieces of the decomposed bodies. Two bullet shells were also found in the site. An investigation continues.

"Thank you so much!"

She grabbed my arm as I walked through the Center and said, "Thank you so much, thank you for this ministry!" Rachel went on to share about a dramatic healing she experienced here and how God has since blessed her life! She shines with His presence! Completely unsolicited, she said, "Please tell everyone, 'Thank you so much! When you support this ministry, you save and change lives.'"

Slaughter in Juarez

Just returned from what has been named, "The most dangerous place on earth," Juarez, Mexico. Truly, that is statistically correct. Even in contrast to two weeks earlier, violence had escalated. As one pastor said, "We wring the newspaper and blood comes out!" The evening news is 30 minutes of non-stop scenes of bloodbath.

Imagine, being a young teen who came to the city only for work to help support the family, but uninformed of the danger! Can you imagine the terror they face as they get off their buses in the darkness of night and have to walk long distances without many working street lights?!

In January alone 8 more young ladies were killed and bodies discovered, while many more disappeared with no further info. Families desperately hang posters on the skywalk above the busy street, hoping.

Our Center has been so busy! There are many hurting girls and young ladies lining the waiting room. Praise God for the privilege of being there in the most dangerous hour in Mexico's history!

One recipient grabbed my arm and said, "Hermana, thank you so much! Thank you for this ministry!" Then she told visiting pastors, "When you support this ministry, you save and change lives!" She was a glowing inspiration to all of us! But her thanks goes to you as well -- for your interest and burden for these precious, beautiful lives!

Houston, Hot Spot for U.S. Sex Trafficking

It appears as though the populated city of Houston is responsible for more than 30% of the calls that are directed to the National Trafficking Tipline, according to Bob Sanborn, President of Children at Risk. This organization, along with Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition, are among the front runners of this world-wide crisis. They admit, however, that they are in desperate need of help to combat trafficking's $32 billion a year industry.

Let's pray that the concentrated force of sex slavery in Houston is disbanded and that we begin to see real breakthrough in this area. Join us by raising awareness of the issues of trafficking/exploitation and praying how God may lead you to get involved locally!

Gruesome Confession

Just last week, a man who admitted to brutally murdering 10 women in the tumultuous city of Juarez, confessed he knew of more bodies being buried in the yard of a supposed co-conspirator. His self-confessed "offerings to Satan" were no more than drug-induced heinous acts of hatred that have taken place since 1993. He claimed he aided other men in the slayings of these women.

It is disheartening to hear of these tragic events, but it only intensifies the passion of our cause! May God's will be done for the families of the victims, as well as the man who was deceived into committing the crimes.
